Chemical Peels
Neuvo Health and Wellness is committed to providing optimal skin rejuvenation for our clients. That’s why we use products by SkinMedica® for our transformative chemical peels. SkinMedica® was founded by physicians and the effectiveness of the ingredients in each of their chemical peel products is founded in science and clinically proved to provide results and long-term health for your skin.

What is a Chemical Peel?
A chemical peel is a cosmetic procedure in which a skin exfoliation product is applied like a facial mask. The ingredients of a chemical peel perform an enhanced skin exfoliation and when removed after a few minutes leave a new layer of healthy skin and a more even and uniform complexion.
SkinMedica® Peels are specifically designed to address specific concerns of skin imperfections caused by aging, acne, and sun damage.
This includes visibly reducing:
• Fine lines
• Wrinkles
• Acne scarring
• Brown spots
• Uneven texture and tone
• Hyperpigmentation
Pre-Treatment
We recommend avoiding any skin procedures or products that could make your skin more sensitive such as a facial or deep cleansing product a few days before your chemical peel is administered.
Before your chemical peel is administered, you will first receive an in-depth skin analysis performed by a facial specialist. She will evaluate your skin and its condition and recommend the appropriate peel for your skin type. The overall process from consultation to the removal of the peel and recovery instructions is about 50 minutes. The chemical peel process itself is about 20 to 25 minutes. Tingling and warmth or mild burning sensation are completely normal during the process and usually does not last long. For most it is not painful; however, individual tolerance can vary during the procedure. A fan will be provided upon request to provide a countering cooling sensation to alleviate any discomfort.
Post-Treatment
Low to moderate pinkness or redness is expected following a chemical peel treatment. The old layer of skin was exfoliated, and a new, fresh layer of skin is showing. This skin will be mildly sensitive to the elements but this along with the redness will fade within 48 hours. Due to the more sensitive state of your skin, it is highly recommended to apply sunscreen (broad spectrum 30 SPF or higher) to your face before going outdoors for any reason and to limit time exposed to the sun. You will be provided recommended post-peel care instructions by a facial specialist that may include the use of specific products like a moisturizer to help in the healing and recovery process.
