Pre-Treatment
Dr. Ubani will first consult with you about the goals you wish to achieve with your chemical peel to ensure the Rejuvenize Peel® is the best chemical peel option for you. Also, it is recommended to avoid any procedures for at least 3 days prior to your chemical peel that could have increased the sensitivity of your skin. This includes other facials or at home exfoliation products.

During Treatment
The SkinMedica® Rejuvenize Peel® product is applied to your face and left to sit for a few minutes. Some individuals report feeling tingling or a mild burning sensation, but this can vary on individual tolerance. If you feel any discomfort, please advise Dr. Ubani. A fan can be provided to provide a cooling sensation, or the peel can be removed prior to completion of treatment.

Post-Treatment
Following your chemical peel, you may experience some peeling; in patches or in large amounts. This depends on the condition of your skin prior to the chemical peel treatment. Keep in mind that a chemical peel is an intense exfoliation and the peeling is normal. Once peeling is complete, a new, healthy and more radiant layer of skin is revealed. You’ll be able to visibly see an improvement in the smoothness of your face and an overall improved appearance in tone and texture.
Because new skin is more sensitive to the sun and the elements, it is advisable to wear sunscreen (broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher) prior to going outside and to limit the amount of time in the sun overall for at least a week. You’ll also be provided any additional after care procedures by Dr. Ubani.
