Anti-Aging Facial
Anti-Aging Facial
In the days of our youth, our skin is naturally well moisturized and has plenty of collagen and elastin. Unfortunately, as the skin matures, it becomes thinner, dryer, and appears duller now that it takes longer for new cells to replace the worn-out ones. A lifetime of exposure to the elements and large quantity of sunshine can also deepen the effects of skin maturity. Compound this with age spots and pigmentation from hormone changes and you have the perfect specimen in need of an anti-aging facial.

What To Expect: Anti-Aging Facial
Skin Cleansing: Like many other facials, an anti-aging facial begins with a facial cleanse. Using cotton pads and a high-moisturizing cream cleanse specifically designed for more mature skin, the face is cleared of makeup, sweat, and buildup.
Skin Analysis: Once your skin has been refreshed, your medical esthetician will perform a thorough skin analysis, reviewing all angles of your face to take note of your skin’s texture, brightness, broken capillaries, blackheads, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation (like age or sun spots), and other skin imperfections. Upon review of your skin’s condition, the esthetician will decide how to best approach your skin’s specifics to target your most concerning areas.
Exfoliation: Depending on your skin analysis, the exfoliation process may include a mechanical exfoliation with a handheld device, or for more complex issues, a chemical peel may be used to slough off old skin and remove major imperfections.
Extractions: Although you are likely well passed the days of acne plagued skin, mature skin can still have clogged pores that lead to oversized blackheads and even whiteheads. Using the appropriate tools, your pores are cleansed of these obstructions.
Facial Massage: The next step in preparing your skin for the rest of your facial and the anti-aging products used at Neuvo Health and Wellness medical spa, is a relaxing facial massage that also serves another purpose – stimulating blood flow and collagen production.
Facial Mask: The last major step of an anti-aging facial is the application of a facial mask using products designed to enhance the levels of moisture present in your skin, brighten your skin tone, and minimize the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.
Additional Anti-Aging Products and After Care
Utilizing what was learned in your skin analysis, your medical esthetician will apply additional products like toners, anti-aging serums, or protective creams. In addition, you will be provided with tips for caring for your mature skin at home in order to continue the benefits and results of your anti-aging facial. It is recommended to maintain a regular in-depth anti-aging facial schedule every 1 to 3 months in order to maintain the best results. The length of time between facial treatments will depend on the severity of your skin’s condition, your aesthetic goals, and the strength of the products used.
Additional forms of therapies like RF treatments, PDO or non-surgical facelifts, and skin tightening may also be discussed during your skin analysis as ways to deepen and enhance your results and compliment your anti-aging facial.
